Welcome to Pilot Knob Lutheran Church
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Pilot Knob Lutheran Church, AALC. We pray your worship here this morning will be uplifting and help you better understand the relationship we have with God through Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions about receiving Jesus by faith and beginning a relationship with God, please speak with the person who invited you, another member of the congregation or the Pastor before you leave this morning. We will be happy to help you discover the truth about starting a new life with Jesus today! Once, again, welcome and may God richly bless our time here this day.

Personal Memory Bank: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." —Acts 1:8 (NIV)

Last Week’s Quiz: What was repulsive to God about the prophets of Samaria? Read Jeremiah 23.
This Week’s Quiz: Why was Ezekiel sent to prophesy to the house of Israel? Read Ezekiel 2.

Coffee will be served after the services today. Everyone is welcome.

The council has established a computer fund to replace the aging church computer. The cost will be from $800 to $1100. If you would like to contribute to this please mark your contribution accordingly.

Food for Thot: If the earth were not tilted 23 degrees on its axis, but were at a 90-degree angle in reference to the sun, we would not have four seasons. Without seasons, life would soon not be able to exist here—the poles would lie in eternal twilight, and water vapor from the oceans would be carried by the wind towards both the north and south and would freeze when close enough to the poles. In time, huge continents of snow and ice would pile up in the polar regions, leavening most of the earth a dry desert. Eventually the oceans would disappear and rainfall would cease. —The earth was created for man.—

June 10, there will be a congregational meeting following the morning service to discuss three resolutions that will be brought before the national convention.

1. A resolution reaffirming the AALC's identity in the conservative/confessional middle of American Lutheranism.
2. Resolution to declare altar and pulpit fellowship with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
3. Resolution to petition the International Lutheran Council for Membership.

These three resolutions will be placed in you mail box for you to pick up next Sunday and read prior to our June 10 meeting. We will also discuss the possibility of working with Bethel Lutheran with guest speakers/music groups etc.

Are you up for a daily quiz? Connect to pilotknob.org for the quiz of the day and test your knowledge of the Bible. It can be a growing experience. You can also hear past and weekly sermons or daily devotions.

Mark your calanders: The Women of LIFE Family Picnic will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, at the Pilot Knob Park Shelterhouse. Hot dogs and buns will be provided. Please bring your own tableware, beverage, and a dish to share, perhaps a comfortable lawn chair. Everyone is welcome.

Morning Worship and Communion - We come together to receive the body and blood of our Savior Jesus Christ, As Paul taught his church, whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. May we prepare through forgiveness and repentance to receive communion in a worthy manner.
