Welcome to Pilot Knob Lutheran Church
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Pilot Knob Lutheran Church, AALC. We pray your worship here this morning will be uplifting and help you better understand the relationship we have with God through Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions about receiving Jesus by faith and beginning a relationship with God, please speak with the person who invited you, another member of the congregation or the Pastor before you leave this morning. We will be happy to help you discover the truth about starting a new life with Jesus today! Once, again, welcome and may God richly bless our time here this day.

Personal Memory Bank: “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” —Psalm 103:11-12 (NIV)

Today’s Quiz: Whose destruction was worse than that of Sodom? Read Lamentations 4.
Next Week’s Quiz: Why were priests not to wear wool while ministering in the inner court? Read Ezekiel 44.

Meaning of Communion
Today we come together to receive the body and blood of our Savior Jesus Christ. As the apostle Paul taught his church, whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

“A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks with out recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment upon himself.” —I Corinthians 11:17-34. May we prepare through forgiveness and repentance to receive communion in a worthy and God-honoring manner.

Please note the time the candles are being extinguished is a time for reflection and prayer on what God has spoken to you.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the soup luncheon a success. Let us continue working together for the common goal, serving our Lord.

A friendly reminder the tustees are looking for one more person to be install the church sign when the weather improves.

Ash Wednesday Communion Service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Feb. 6. The theme of this year’s Lenten service is: “The Seven Cs of History.” Beginning Feb. 13 we will learn about Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation.

Passover Seder Meal conducted by “Jews for Jesus” will be March 15.

The gift wrapped box at the foot of the lectern is a birthday box. If you had a birthday the past week and would like to give an offering that will go to missions you may place it in the box during the offering.

In the event of adverse weather, it may be necessary for Sunday services to be cancelled. If they are, it will be announced on the following radio stations: KJLY, KCMR, KIOW, KGLO, KIMT. If you think you missed the announcement you may call Pastor Bob.

The council has established a technology fund. This fund will be used to replace and/or repair equipment. Donations are accepted at any time.

Food for thot: Twenty-six things we learn from our mothers. 13. My mother taught me about STAMINA: “You’ll sit there ‘till all that spinach is finished.”

Did you miss a service and would like to hear the sermon, or refer the message to someone else? Are you up for a daily quiz? Connect to www.pilotknob.org. Are you up for a quiz of the day and a test your knowledge of the Bible? It can be a growing experience.
