Welcome to Pilot Knob Lutheran Church
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Pilot Knob Lutheran Church, AALC. We pray your worship here this morning will be uplifting and help you better understand the relationship we have with God through Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions about receiving Jesus by faith and beginning a relationship with God, please speak with the person who invited you, another member of the congregation or the Pastor before you leave this morning. We will be happy to help you discover the truth about starting a new life with Jesus today! Once, again, welcome and may God richly bless our time here this day.

Pray for the Following: Winnebago Ind./Waldorf College; Economy; Heather May, Iraq; Justin Gerdes, Persian Gulf runs; Donna’s niece, Amanda Simmons (Iraq); Louis and Dorothea Escobedo (missionaries); Safety for our military; Presidential Election; Revival; AALC; Persecuted Christians

Personal Memory Bank: “Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” —Psalm 37:1, 4 (NIV)

Today’s Quiz: Why was Haman enraged at Mordecai? Read Esther 5.
Next Week’s Quiz: How high was the gallows Haman had built and who hung from it? Read Esther 5-6.

Special offering for the AALC convention will be taken Sunday, June 22. Pastor Bob will take this to convention.

Congregational meeting: 10:00 a.m. on June 29. LCMS guidelines, recognized by the AALC, recommends six weeks’ vacation for pastors who have been in the ministry for 25 years or more. Pastor Bob has 26 years in the ministry.

Church picnic beginning at 11:00 am on July 27 at PKLC. Guest speaker/performer, Christian illusionist David Willamson will have a program around 1:30 pm. This is open to the public.

Guest speaker Evangelist Jay West will be speaking at 10:30 am on August 10, at the morning service and after a noon potluck dinner. Jay is involved with the Lutheran conference of the Holy Spirit.

If you have a topic, text or question concerning the Bible or Christian life and would like it to be addressed in a sermon, please write it out and place it in Pastors’ mailbox or offering plate. It is not necessary to sign your name if you want to remain anonymous. We will take suggestions during the month of June.

The Forest City Food Bank supplies food for those in need and has seen a rise in customers in recent weeks. We will have a box available year round for donations. At this time they could use toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo and tuna in addition to regular nonperishable food items.

It is suggested that each family try to give $5.00 per week toward the building fund. If every family that normally attends services did this, we would reduce our mortgage debt by $7,200.00 per year. Let's team together and see if we can't knock that debt out soon.

The gift wrapped box at the foot of the lectern is a birthday box. If you had a birthday the past week and would like to give an offering that will go to missions you may place it in the box during the offering.

The council has established a technology fund. This fund will be used to replace and repair equipment. Donations are accepted at any time.

Teen Commandants
Treasure your time; don’t spend it, invest it.

Did you miss a service and would like to hear the sermon, or refer the message to someone else? Are you up for a daily quiz? Connect to www.pilotknob.org. Are you up for a quiz of the day and a test your knowledge of the Bible? It can be a growing experience.

Link for a kids’ web site: www.kidsanswers.org. They'll love the fun and you will love the safe, creator-honoring entertainment that awaits them.

Pilot Knob’s Purpose Statement:
