Homepage Message: October 2007
All Hallows' Eve ... a trick or a treat? This is the time of year to enjoy the fruit of your labor: fruit and late-season vegetables, corn, beans and other crops. A time to enjoy the bright colors of red, orange, yellow and brown of autumn leaves. The warm sun also feels so good as we anticipate cooler days ahead. Then there is the more sinister side of Halloween, people who take seriously the dark side of life. It is the High Holiday for Satanists, an evening for sacrifices and worship of Satan. Unfortunately we live in a time that practices evil and witchcraft everyday through divination, sorcery, psychics, omens, casting spells, tarot cards, Ouija boards and astrology. Those are the activities God condemns in Deuteronomy 18, the very sins that contributed to God’s judgment upon Canaan centuries ago. God and his standards have not changed. |
