Homepage Message: December 2007
As this year draws to a close and we anticipate the new year of 2008, it is very fitting to celebrate Christmas. Here we are reminded as the year comes to an end that we are not alone or forgotten. The real meaning of Christmas tells us God cares about us and loves us on a scale beyond our comprehension. Why would God, who is spirit from all eternity, choose to become part of the human race, entering this would through child birth? Surely God could have come to earth some other way, more dignified and with splendor. But he didn’t. He came as a humble baby totally dependent on his parents for his very survival. He came to show the loving nature of God through his life. He became the portrait of God’s nature and character. Man could never have suggested God was one of unconditional and sacrificial love. Because Jesus is God he is not infected with sin. He never yielded to temptation but yielded only to his Father’s will. He has provided the cure for our disease by giving his precious and holy blood that is far more powerful than sin and death. So we see that the meaning of Christmas centers on Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift to you, who alone provides the cure for our terminal illness: sin. What a way to bring the year to a close, the birth of God’s son, his gift to the world who can forgive your sin and make you at peace with his Father. This is the gift that keeps on giving and want to take with you into 2008. If you have not received God’s gift for you this Christmas or would like to know more, we would love you to know more about the love of God. |
